[It hadn't been long since Shadow and Maria had arrived in Violet. Shadow made sure to battle each Pokemon for her-- he was very protective of his best friend. But now that they were in Violet, he'd eased off a little.]

[Shiho was just walking through Violet, not really paying attention to people around her. Suddenly, her Misdreavus flew/floated over to Shadow. Shiho of course, couldn't stop her in time.]

I want you to be stronger here, with your Pokemon. If something would happen that would keep me from you, your partner would be able to protect you. [Would have to use his weakest Pokemon, knowing that Maria's Marill couldn't be very strong yet.]
