The power of memory is a strange thing. The first time I watched Battlestar is kind of a blur because it went so fast, for all that it was only a year ago. They usually played it when they were bored and needed something to pass the hours, on CAP or in the briefing room while they were drawing up tactical plans. Or sometimes they'd play if they were drunk, though they were rarely that at the same time nowadays. The past had taught them better. Mostly. On rare occasions, like tonight, they played over the top of the shower stalls. He'd started it tonight. Looking over he'd caught sight of her, from the neck up. Her head tipped back as she rinsed the shampoo from her hair. He remembered seeing her in a similar situation once before ( ... )

I can imagine this so vividly, both of them captivated by Kara Thrace. Lovely!

Glad you enjoyed! It's rare for innocence to thrive in the BSG verse, but sometimes, very needed.

Awwwww, pre-mini pilots and Zak! One of my favourite ever times to read about, with all that is my head!canon for them. This is lovely and poignant, and I adore it.

This is so lovely. The thought of them playing this game in different places, when something triggers a memory, makes me smile.

Zak behind the wheel and Kara between them, her hand in Zak's, her head on Lee's shoulder.

I am reading apodixis's excellent story We Used to Wait and in chapter one Kara talks about something being "the only way she can have both of them." She means Lee and Sam, but it would work wonderfully here also, with Lee and Zak. That line made me think of it.

This is such a great image, especially replayed in the shower stall. What a great little moment. :)

I'm bad at fixing entire arcs, so making pretty little moments like this are about all I'm good for. :P
