Queen of Hearts: Permissions/Appearance/Powers

Feb 27, 2011 11:49

I thought I'd write up one of these.

I'm happy to play with any character from any canon (including OCs, of course), so please don't be shy. Sometimes I am shy, but I try not to be! Also, if I'm doing something that's giving you trouble in any way, or if there's something you'd like me to do, don't hesitate to let me know. You can comment here or send me a note.

In case you're wondering, I don't intend to have Sephiroth go mad or become evil during her time in the Gardens. Though I do like exploring her less pleasant feelings and her unusual nature, the extreme events that happen in canon to cause that change won't be replicated here.

[OOC]
Backtagging: Yes, please. ♥
Threadhopping: In most cases, it would be okay. Unless it's something intense or important, but ask if you're not sure.
Fourthwalling: In the sense of her being a video game character, then no, considering her role in canon. I am fan of dramatic irony, however, and subtle jokes or references that go over her head are fine. If your character happens to know Sephiroth from another game, like Kingdom Hearts or Dissidia, then definitely feel free to recognize her and react.

[IC]
Hugging this character: Yes! Sephiroth needs hugs. She might not be sure how to respond, but if you're looking a nice stiff/awkward hug, Sephiroth's your woman.
Kissing this character: Why not? Attempt away. How she responds will very much depend on her relationship with the other character, but a cold rebuff is probably the worst you'll get.
Flirting with this character: Yes. It could be hilarious.
Fighting with this character: Fighting with Sephiroth is of course welcome. Under normal circumstances, she's unlikely to start a hostile fight without good reason. Sparring's another matter, and she's always happy to find a new opponent to train with.
Injuring this character: Just ask first. Sephiroth is notably hard to injure in her canon, but since her powers are limited here, I'm fine with some injuries, if suitably justified.
Killing this character: If there's a good reason or story behind it, then maybe yes, but we'd have to work that out beforehand.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Yes, although she would probably be difficult to read. You might be able to sense that Sephiroth isn't entirely human or at least that there's something quite alien about her brain. If you tell her this, though, she's highly unlikely to believe you without proof.

Warnings: Don't touch her sword without her permission. She'll frown at you.
Sensitive subjects: PARENTS. But all the more reason to bring them up.

Also, for those who meet or wish to fight with Sephiroth, here's a bit of general information your character might notice, as well as a list of her powers:

Appearance:

Sephiroth looks unusual in her own world, so others in the Gardens might find her so as well. As her appearance is clearly somewhat influenced by her alien DNA, I thought she would appear similar to her male counterpart. She is androgynous, but would not actually be mistaken for a man. Lady Sephiroth is slighter, and a bit shorter: roughly six feet tall, and that's with her boots on.

Her most notable features would be her long silver hair and her bright green eyes, with pupils like a cat's.

She dresses all in black and wears silver pauldrons that look like they must be really uncomfortable to have on the time. Probably she'll take them off at some point, but not at first. As a SOLDIER in the field, her outfit isn't much different than that of her male counterpart's, though her chest is actually covered up.

If any character can tell when someone is not entirely human, they would likely be able to realize that there is something inhuman about Sephiroth.

Sephiroth from this era is not villainous and tends to appear calm and polite (if rather arrogant), unless she is given a reason not to be.

Other points of note:
Her hair is so big because it's full of secrets [YouTube link].

Powers:

Sephiroth's one of those superpowered magical super soldiers! She is generally quite hard to beat, but again, I'm not opposed to a defeat or a draw, depending on the situation.

Sephiroth's powers are mostly combat-related, though some also have applications outside of battle.

--She is a master swordswoman. Her katana, Masamune, is about as tall as herself, and she carries it with her at all times.
--Her speed, strength, and reflexes are far beyond that of any human's.
--She has spirit-based combat magic. For instance, she can create energy beams with her sword to cut through metal and stone easily, and she has certain other special energy attacks.
--She can't actually fly, but her jumps are rather impressive.

If you'd like to see the Sephiroth of this era in action, you can always watch this ridiculous scene from Crisis Core.

And information about her Materia, because why not?

Materia:

Materia from Sephiroth's world:
Restore, Fire, and All (linked to Fire). Mastered materia. This basically means that she can heal herself and burn a lot of stuff at once.

Garden-made materia: (These are new materia; they will level up over time, granting Sephiroth more related abilities or increasing the power of the abilities)
Choco/Mog: Summon materia. Summons a Mog riding a Chocobo. A weak, non-elemental attack that has a 40% chance of inflicting enemies with Stop.
Heal: Sephiroth can cast Poisona and cure Poison.
Barrier: Sephiroth can cast a protective spell on herself or an ally, halving all physical damage done to the target.

[Note on Garden-made Materia: Sephiroth is intimately familiar with the making and function of Materia. However, in most cases, when she attempts to create damage-dealing Materia, the magic of the Gardens changes them. The Materia from her world that she does manage to recreate work much the same as ordinary Materia. They level up, and Sephiroth must be connected to them in some way in order to use them. However, the Gardens-altered Materia are not true Materia at all. As pseudo-Materia, they function like magical crystals that anyone can learn to use. One only needs to be holding them to use them. They do not level up. They have little, if any, usefulness in combat, except perhaps as a distraction.]

Garden-altered materia created by Sephiroth:
Pie: Creates a rain of pies. They are apple.
Tree: Creates a tree that grows swiftly and bursts into bloom. Its flowers expel clouds of glitter.
Rainbow: Shoots beautiful rainbows.
