Ooh, dilemma

I'm being offered an office at work.  Something I have certainly bemoaned from time to time in my 13 years here, after a couple years of having an office at my old job.  This seems like it shouldn't be a dilemma, and yet...  in the course of my day I do interact quite a bit with all the boys that sit in the strange maze of cubicle walls we have

It's great that they're offering you an office anyway, whether or not it ends up being something you decide to take.

yes, that is certainly so. Altho it does come with an "oops, I take it back" clause; it's an unused Account Manager office (or sort of the junior account manager office, since it was a weird doorless space that got repurposed and door-ified, and it's always been a bit strange), and while there are no plans in any foreseeable future to hire an additional AM, if they do I'll have to move out, on the understanding that it is no commentary on my worth, etc etc. (this happens to people here as we grow and shift around in our limited space.)

I'm leaning towards yes, pending some restructuring of our work flow. Because it will be a very nice physical reminder of my actual role here, and that's something I've been trying to emphasize lately.
