Nornia! Great word. Loved the use of 'flugelhorn' too, and I could totally believe Barney would run a play this elaborate to get Robin to react.

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it. Using the sentences of the canon was really fun. I wanted Barney to be, well Barney! And I'm still hoping Robin give us a little hint that she truly loved (and hopefully still loves) Barney.

Oh, this was wonderful! I love how you weave in explanations for Barney and Robin's behaviour over the last couple of sesaons - it makes so much more sense the way you tell it.

And I love that Robin didn't crack, even at the end. And Barney's rant/monologue.

Great stuff!

Thank you idioticonion! I'm a fan of your stories and it means a lot that you liked it!

I think there's more to be said about Robin's feelings for Barney and the show denied us her part by omitting the whole summer they've spent together.

I'm optimistic that Nora's presence will make Robin react.

Wow, thank you! That's so lovely of you. I'd love to see more fic of Robin during their "missing summer" in the hiatus between Season 4 and Season 5, see Robin coming to terms with how she feels about Barney being in love with her? I can't believe she was really in denial all along, or really that clueless.

And yeah, Nora better make Robin react! Or I shall slap the show with a fish. :-)

I wish Robin or Barney referred to that summer somehow! Logically, Tad cannot do that! But the show is basically a long flashback and they may do that some day! But as you said we can write and fill the gap!:D

We drink in silence for a while. “How did Nora find out?”

“The night that she took care of me, she was playing this soothing piece and I said…”

“Good night mummy?”

“That was what I told you guys. I actually said “Good night, Robin.”

“What?”

“I was sick, and filled with codeines, and I could only see a blurry silhouette of a woman with dark hair”

I don’t know what to say.

DUDE YOU JUST MADE MY DAY. (It's officially canon in my mind now.)

:D For me Barney/ Nora interaction was so unreal that I needed to convince myself he is not telling the (whole) truth! I even wrote justifications for his heart missing a beat, but the story was already long.
