I used to absolutely love marching band.

Quit. If life is less enjoyable because you're trying to juggle so many things, drop band.

It sounds like you're attempting to recreate the good times you had with band years prior. But if it's clearly not as fulfilling, why are you still doing it? I think you should quit now, and accept that those times have passed. Don't be regretful that they're over, and you can't get them back, but be optimistic about things to come.

You're in love with the time frame, not band itself. You're so young. Don't worry; you've still got so much fun in your life.

if band has become more of a hassle because of the instrument you play then see if you can switch to a different one.

or quit, but i know that by quiting now, you will feel horrible because now they would have a permant hole to fill for the rest of the season. i say talk to Grugin, see what he thinks, i know that he was accommodating when POD needed to switch instruments and when i wanted to switch to a lighter one he let me. i think it will be good to look at the options first before deciding to quit.

however no matter what i suggest/say or what anyone else says, its your decision. we cant make it for you, just do what will make you happy. cuz if your not happy doing it then the season will suck, i guarantee it.

quit. there's no point in doing it if it makes you hate band. and it sounds like you have a lot of other things to focus on. i say quit and don't look back. you can always join a band as an adult, so why stress about sucky marchingband now?

If you permanently injure you're back, all the work put into weight loss over the last few years will be for naught. I've seen many people who injured their back, then promptly gained nearly 100 lbs. You just won't be able to move around and enjoy ANYTHING as well.

Its also not good to overextend yourself. Sleep and relaxation time are uber important to keep yourself from burning out.

If you can't lighten the load, then maybe its better to quit while you're ahead. You may love it, but your post reads like Marching Band is a burden.

Please take care of yourself.

Marching Band is temporary. Health problems are forever.
