A package recently arrived at my house, addressed to my girl friend, which was too large to fit through the letter box. So the package was returned to the central sorting office in York, near the train station, where it could be picked up. As for things that are easy to fake, I once boarded a plane with what was basically a black-and-white photocopy of a driver's license.

They usually don't check your ID either. I think they just say that it's required to discourage idiots from stealing mail.
