I was at work ... same job as I have now. I remember a dear friend from Texas (also an Aggie:) calling me and saying that I HAD TO get on my computer to watch CNN. I couldn't get a feed from CNN -- too many people were trying to access the website. My friend, Ali, told me that a plane had smacked into one of the towers at the World Trade Center. I turned my radio to NPR and listened all day... heard them talk about the second plane crashing into the other tower. I remember feeling gobsmacked, then numb. I cried a lot.
I was living temporarily with my parents here in upstate New York. I'd just moved back from New York City about 2 months previously and hadn't found a full-time job yet; I had signed up to substitute teach, but the school year had just begun a few days before and they hadn't called me yet. So I was still in bed when my mom came knocking and woke me up to tell me a plane had hit one of the towers. Shocked, I stumbled downstairs to watch the TV footage with her, and was just in time to see the second plane hit

I was at school in midtown Manhattan. I remember the middle of second period - about 9:15 - the principal came on the loud speaker and said she needed all of her Deans and Heads of Departments in her office immediately. We had no idea what was going on. I had third period lunch, and as I was heading to the cafeteria, one of the teachers told me a plane had flew into the World Trade Center, at that point, we didn't know it was a terrorist attack
