Yes yes...I wanted to see it too...and I understand why they didn't show anything like it in Serenity (not enough time for all the lovely scenes and moments and details of the character's lives), but it just seemed like a little gap in the film. That we never got to really see Zoe's journey of grief.

So I had to write about it myself *wide smile

Plus I got to explore the spookiness that is River Tam...which is always fun...hee

I'm glad you liked it. I like writing from River's perspective, and exploring all the strangeness that is just...her. Plus like I said, it's my own personal homage to Medium - i'm such a sucker for that show *blush

And also I wanted the Zoe pain...cos I am a whore for angsty goodness. Ahhh the pain it burns so fine... *grins

Wow. First of all, I'm glad that I'm not the only person who sees this happening, Zoë using River to comfort her after Wash's death. Secondly, this is so amazingly powerful. You've got a real talent for the dramatic; I've noticed it before. This is really, really great.

*laughs. That's what my b/friend says all the time, but it sounds sooo much nicer coming from you, and I don't think he means it in quite the same way *grins

I'm so glad that other people like this one apart from just me...angsty stuff can be difficult to write cos I never feel totally confident that I haven't gone over into Soppy Land. I wanted it to be dramatic but still have that dark weirdness that is River...and I wanted it to retain some of the bitterness that I think Zoe would have felt.

I mean, that's how i'd feel if I was her...the thing that would just go round and round in my mind would be 'why didn't she tell me?!?!'. PO'd would be an understatement...

And I agree with you, River would be the only logical choice to provide any real comfort to Zoe.
