Hmmm, both are nice, but I think I prefer the US version just because I like the way the off-white looks more. Or maybe I'm just more used to US drift, since he's been sitting on my dresser all year. I added a MLP from mcdonalds next to him, they're now bros.

Well, I was bored a few weeks ago, and got a fairly decent price on JP Drift, but honestly, you could do the paint apps yourself for like...$2 for a bottle of Testors, ya know?

Meh, the US ones are just fine for me. ~Sparkly~ paint isn't enough to make me pay the ungodly prices for the Japanese ones xD

I wouldn't call what I paid 'ungodly' but yeah, if you like the US version, it's not worth it just for a bit of paint...and floppier swords. o_O

I know I've read that they put more work into the paint job and such to justify the expense because TFs in Japan are aimed at adult collectors, not children.

So why on earth do they need him to have an even floppier sword than the N. American version? They have no safety standards to follow, its not like an adult is going to jab themselves in the eye. The mind, it boggles.

(BTW, do you have Blurr yet? He looks super sweet next to Drift).

Does Drift need a little blue pill for his floppy sword(s)?

Oh it's just so wrong! Drift and his floppy swords. *pffffffffffff* The other Autobots treat him like crap already--if they knew this....!

(Seriously, I'll never forgive Bumblebee for that crack he makes in AHM 9. D< )

Nice pictures! I always like the paint jobs on the Japanese versions better. Makes me wish I wasn't so impatient and had a better source of income, so I could buy the Japanese versions. XD

Oh the red's nicer and the white's whiter, but the rest of the paint apps you can do yourself. I've actually already done a 'touchup' on the US Drift that included blacklining his armor, gold touches to the face and chassis, and even blue the gem of the Great Sword and.... It cost about $6 in paint and makes the figure look MUCH nicer.

Hellooo, popping in XD I just noticed that the kanji on Drift's side is samurai. ... I had not gotten that and I've been stalking Drift for a while now. =)
