I Ask Percy How I Should Live My Life (Ten)*

Love, love, love, says Percy.
And run as fast as you can
along the shining beach, or the rubble, or the dust.

Then, go to sleep.
Give up your body heat, your beating heart.
Then, trust.

[* Percy is her dog. This is the tenth poem in the book written about Percy.]

THat's fantastic. I like that they say so much and are short. ("Elegant", I believe is the term I'm looking for, or perhaps, "clever".)

*nodnod* One of my flaws in writing poetry is that they always get long and clunky. So I particularly like the short elegant ones. :)
