CNE 2014 + new Doctor Who

Made the annual visit to the CNE again this year. Even though many of the venders return year after year I still enjoy walking around and shopping. Didn't buy much jewelry this year, just one blue labradoriet ring and it's really pretty. Did buy a bunch of BluRays insanely cheap ( Read more... )

Well, Sherlock IS sporadically. I saw the first season (3 episodes) in 2010. I saw the second season (3 episodes) in 2012. I saw the third season (3 episodes) in 2014. That is two years wait in between each season! Reason, of course, is that both Benedict and Martin are always busy with other stuff and Moffat has mainly to worry about Doctor Who. They promise us a Christmas special now, but haven't started filming it, so it won't be this year but next year.

I think they've shown maybe one or two episodes and they are out of sequence plus it doesn't have a regular time slot on the station that airs it which is PBS. So basically they'll put an episode on a Sunday then maybe nine months later or more they'll air another episode but on a Wednesday night so nothing consistent and you have to constantly be on the lookout for it. I figure when the show is complete I'll get the DVDs and watch them all.

It's funny you say Moffat is more concerned with Doctor Who because he's constantly accused of here and over in the UK by the fans as catering more to Sherlock.

Oh that is really bad. On German TV, when there is a new series, they show the three episodes around the Whitsun weekend, so within a few days. But the old episodes also get re-aired all the time, and I don't pay attention to the order or whether they are complete. They are on many different channels. Most of them can be watched as stand alone anyway.

You can already buy the DVDs, there is a box for each season, and surely also one that contains all three seasons. I hope it will continue for a long while yet, so to wait till they are finished might mean decades.

Well, I don't know what he is more concerned with, but I figure Doctor Who is more time consuming, just because it is more episodes. Sometimes a bit of Sherlock slips into Who though and I don't think that is good. Keep the shows seperate. Better yet, just concentrate on Sherlock and let someone knew try their hands on Who. That's what I would do.

I probably won't wait that long to get Sherlock lol!

I do agree that Moffat should concentrate on Sherlock and let someone handle Doctor Who now. He's had his time and it's clear that he's more vested in Sherlock. Best to let it go.
