Goodbye, Aeron

Aeron, hyla_regilla's Himalayan cat, died in the wee hours this morning, aged not quite 14. Went to sleep on a blanket, didn't wake up. Goodbye to the sweetest cat I ever knew. Fare well

Oh gosh. Aeron was a truly lovely cat. I'm glad I got to give C several enormous hugs the other night but please deliver 14 more and then take some for yourself? I know she loved Aeron like life itself.

I remember when C. and I went with Aeron to go see Halley's Comet. Aeron was only a kitten, a small handful of incredibly cute fuzz. She held up Aeron and said, "Fuzzball, look at the fuzzball..."

Y'know, that sounds quite a lot like that "watching the submarine races" thing we used to do back in high school. Just sayin'.

It is always so sad to lose a pet, but I'm sure you gave Aeron a fantastic life.

I am also trying to prepare myself for the day when this happens to Magnolia - for a Siamese 18 is quite a good age, and she is definitely a bony (and to be honest cranky and forgetful) old lady now, but I still adore her.

Like I am doing with my Dad, do please try to remember the good days!

She loved everyone but dogs and babies
hated being held but was always where the people were
always had a purr for me if I would pat her >^.^<
kindly accepted all my household changes with regal aplomb

no one has lived with me so long as she has.
