Marvel's Thor movie due in 2010

I know Marvel's Thor speaks in a mock Shakespearian accent but is that what has attracted Kenneth Branagh to consider the project?
Really. He is in talks to direct.

the mind boggles. I remember when he took on Hamlet, and sweet-talked his old mentor into playing in it with him. He has charisma, and drive, and stubbornness on his side. He is known for thoroughness and detail.

This could be very interesting indeed.

I adore Branagh, and still consider him much more Shakespearean than Lockhart, but I have NO idea if his direction style will translate into a superhero movie. I think it'd be fun to find out, tho'.
