Allen had been about to hunt for a way out of Nesreca, but that would have to wait. The rhythmic thud of boots announced his arrival just a moment later, Timcanpy right behind him, followed by a brief silence as both boy and golem came to a sudden halt at the landing so Allen could just... look at Matt for a moment. Or rather, at the air above his head ― habit, you see. The intensity of his gaze soon melted away into a smile.

"Hello," came the warm greeting, breaking the silence before it could stretch into the realm of discourtesy. "You must be Matt."

A flash of gold and the stamp of heavy feet drew Matt's attention to the stairs below. He knew that gold. The.. Well... Larger looked down at Allen. "Matt I am. Allen?" Oh the way his words got mixed up when he was panicked.

"Going up." Ever the one for conversation, Matt started up the rest of the stairs. Just five flights to go to get outside. Then who knew if Dori would be on that roof anyway. Looking back the older glanced at Allen as he went up the stairs. "Sorry.. Just worried about Dori..."

...Er. Wow. Now that Allen wasn't busy waiting for his left eye to tell him he's screwed, he had plenty of time to take in how... not tall he was next to Matt. Bean sprout, a voice scoffed in the back of his mind, which he took joy in dispelling with a particularly heavy thump of his boot on the next flight of stairs.

"Yes, that's me, and please don't apologise. I know what it's like to be afraid for someone else." He was already following closely behind Matt, but Timcanpy still deemed it necessary to wheel around their heads once before zooming right ahead, as if to say, God, hurry up.

It felt like it was taking forever to go up the stairs. Matt watched Tim flit about and rather then watching the stairs, the shop keeper kept his eyes up on what was too far ahead to help with the rushing now. Thanks to that, he caught the tip of his shoe on a step and nearly fell forward. The joy of long arms kept Matt from actually falling as he managed to grab the stair rail to save himself.

"Always worried about Dori you know. He gets into messes without meaning to once in a while." The older righted himself and finished his way up the stairs, stopping at the door to the roof to look back at Allen to see where he was.
