so far:
Yesterday Tulio and I went to a new Mexican/Salvadoran restaurant and the food was really good and the beer was cheap and there were Mariachis who (and this is very important) were paid by the restaurant owners so they didn't ask for money

Also, I got my awesome bag of fibers from Hollyeqq

needle felting, photos, spinning, gardening, happy dance, fiber

Hostas are amazing plants! Mine however, eventually succumbed to what I call monkey grass 'cause I can never remember its real name (thick clusters of grassbladelike thingys with black berries in the fall). :(

You see people deliberately planting the stuff as a ground cover but i consider it evil & vile 'cause it's very invasive and mowing it only fills it with multiply glee. It's fast suffocating several native things i'm trying to nurture in my "lawn" so i've taken to digging it out by hand which is arduous work at best 'cause it has deep clingy roots with runners all over the place.

*ponders a pickaxe*

Ooooooo unicorns! :D

I would call it monkey grass or liriope. it is super invasive! my mom loves it for that very reason. a pick axe would help. so would napalm. you could try roundup as a friendlier option!

Trouble is, I don't like using poison either.. and it's got itself all clumped up next to my wild hyacinths so I wouldn't want to accidentally zap 'em too (which I inevitably would :P). If I get desperate enough I will, though, 'cause that's what I ended up having to do with the dang poison ivy :/ (but I swear I did not enjoy it!)
