Overheard in public transport

Yesterday in bus I observed a small girl (between age of 5 - 7) reciting Christmas verses to herself, while her father was standing next to the seat, attempting to read a thick paperback ( Read more... )

I found the "It is your company, dear Santa, that we value most" both sweet and reminding me the wedding etiquette discussions on the net (should the guests remember cover your plate rule of giving gifts or is it the company of the guests the biggest value by itself).

I have found public transport to be a great place for overhearing sweet, interesting, thought provoking and sometimes disgusting conversations.

I got a novel idea from listening to a conversation on the subway one day. I still have the idea, but I have no idea what the conversation I overheard was about or how it sparked the idea for me.

The visit from real live Santa can also be scary, even if the Santa would not ask about any recent misbehavior (keep in mind that Estonian Santa also had a birch branch under his belt at least up to late 1970-ies and in theory he would spank any child who turned out not to be good enough, instead of giving them gifts)
