We put a bid on a house up in Baltimore last week. Another short sell, so the bank has up to 60 days to approve or deny the proposal. Hopefully, we will hear one way or the other before then. It's 7:30am now. I've been up since 5:00am. Abdominal pains -- gas? queazy stomach? I don't know. The heating pad was working, and in the pre-dawn hours all I could imagine was an exploding appendix. Would any of my local-to-DC female friends be interested in modeling for me this Saturday? I am working on a series of gothic valentine's images to make into cards and necklaces, but I need a woman in a black dress with a black veil. I have the veils; I just need a model with a long black dress.

We've decided to name the new kitten Gracie after the Graces, the beautiful daughters of Zeus and Eurynome, attendants to Aphrodite, and sometimes companions to Hermes. Saturday, on a whim, I adopted a new little girl. She's 10 weeks old, and very snuggly. Hermes is over enamored of her and won't leave her alone. But she's holding her own. Last night she slept on my shoulder between Michael and me.

She's not telling us her name yet. If you would like to help by giving suggestions, we'll listen.
