Oooh, how lovely! They look so magical, and the way you describe them is divine~ I'm totally inspired to go out and create my own leaf critters and leave them around campus to make other people's days a little more fantastic =D
I agree with the two very wise ladies above me-- these are wonderful! I saw them and I think my astonishment went through my core, for real. It was just one of those "wow..." awestruck moments. I've never seen anything like them, which is just one of the reasons why they're so awesome. I don't know, I'm mind-boggled at the artistry and creativity of them, seriously. I love your art, and I love that you do so many things outside the box like this (oh, oh, and that piece with the gutted CPU parts on it! Just off the top of my head.) So cool, man. It would have been great if you could have somehow preserved them, but maybe it's fitting they were fleeting, just like birds. ♥
I think that if you go to this area, you can't help but be lead into this direction of making. It's such a peaceful place, so still despite the wind and rain and busy birds, that it feels almost magic. I was thinking about preservation. But I think I'd need to treat the leaves first, probably with a lot of toxic shit, and that seems to go against the entire being of it. I love that in the end, they really will go back to what they were, like actual bird golems.
My teacher was gone, so he didn't see them. He'll see the photos on Tuesday, though. And my classmates seem to like them, though they didn't say anything on them. Yeah, no, my art classes are notoriously horrible at critiques.
True, true. I was imagining some air-lock space box that would keep them pristine and beautiful as diamonds, but I guess maybe Ziploc hasn't caught up that far. ;pp
I know what you mean. That is great that the feeling you got from them was a good one! ♥

What did your classmates/teacher think of them?
