You look comfortable! ... and well, moderately charming too, I guess. Nice suit.

But... well, the strange attire bit is really subjective. You're supposed to dress up on Halloween, like some sort of mythical creature or just... be someone that you're not. Some people do dress up like skeletons, but not to this extent. It's a pretty fun holiday in general, though!

It's otherwise not common to hear people refer to their bosses as their master.

Hmm, I'll worry anyway, if that's alright with you. [... and at that question, she shrugs.]

In the months that I've known him, he hasn't betrayed my trust once. That's... just about it.

[On the surface, anyway.]

Really? Maybe it's a cultural difference. [sidestep sidestep]

Well I don't think I'd be able to stop you even if I wanted to. [and intrigued] You seem so sure about that.

It could be... But you know, I've found that some cultures are really similar to each other around here- even if we come from different worlds. Weird, huh?

Haha, I surprise myself with how sure I am, too.

This is true, like this Halloween. [oh that reminds him!] Someone mentioned something about a "Christmas"? I don't suppose your world had that as well?

I'll trust your judgment, but I'd still be cautious if I were you. Sometimes it's the ones you trust the most who end up being your worst enemy.

Mm-hmm! It's a holiday that stemmed from... some religion. [She shrugs.] Don't know the specifics of the origin, but it's when you set up Christmas trees and exchange presents. It's coming up in a few months, actually!

[At first, she doesn't have an answer for that. Matthew? Her worst enemy? .... she always thought that she was a better judge of character than that, but... The thought actually makes her smile a bit and she nods.]

Gotcha. I... appreciate the advice, Obi. Thanks for caring.

Interesting. We don't have anything like that in my world, or at least in the countries I know of.

[and he notices her hesitation. perhaps he said too much? but then again, it was legitimate advice, particularly when he probably knows Matthew type rather well]

I'm sure it will be fine. You seem like a person who can judge a person rather well.

only because you're mean. sweeperesque October 26 2010, 00:06:32 UTC
Really? Well, I hope you stick around for it! Christmas is a lot of fun. Watching people exchange presents is really heart-warming.

[She laughs.] I'm sure it will be, too. Everything will work out, and I can take care of myself.

But you know... even if you say I can judge a person well, it's like a taunt, seeing I can't piece together much about you.

i can't help it. it's because you're just so /adorable/ ninjaservant October 26 2010, 00:08:38 UTC
So it's a holiday to just exchange presents? But couldn't you just give a person a present at any time?

[chuckles] Haha, I apologize, then. I didn't realize I was causing you such difficulty. [lies. he knows very well how he's behaving]

WHAT NO. NOT HERE. sweeperesque October 26 2010, 00:12:18 UTC
You could... but the idea on Christmas is to be really thankful for what you have. There's the idea of family and togetherness. Not to mention the thing about hope and joy to the world.

[How clear is it that she's only vaguely aware of what she's talking about?]

Heh. Of course you didn't. [She rolls her eyes, and... it's clear that she knows he's lying. But she won't push it.]

Aaaaaah, I see. It does sound like a nice holiday. But now I'm a bit conflicted.

I hope you'll tell me what you think, though. I'm a little curious.

YOU'RE HORRIBLE. ;; sweeperesque October 26 2010, 00:23:18 UTC
Conflicted? How so?

Is that a roundabout way of fishing for compliments, Obi? ...Or trying to find out if you're giving off the appearance that you want to~?

Haha, you make me sound so devious.

I DIDN'T SIGN ANYTHING. sweeperesque October 26 2010, 00:42:59 UTC
[She laughs in response.] Well, you know, this could be a sort of... vacation. I say take it as it is. If you return home, enjoy it. If you stick around... there's nothing stopping you from enjoying that too.

Devious? No! More like... not entirely honest with me, that's all. And I don't fault you for that.

S'OKAY. I SIGNED FOR YOU :D ninjaservant October 26 2010, 00:44:49 UTC
Hmm, I suppose. Though if what you say is true about the holiday, I'd wish the young mistress could see it as well.

I guess it just comes naturally.

Young mistress, huh...? Some girl from your home world?

[She laughs.] Then if it's natural, let it be natural. Just don't expect me to stand for it all the time~
