Mmm I saw bits of Sai and Shizune but I'm going with Future!Hinata - she fits the traits you listed. She's friendly, caring, shy, honest and quite the sensitive person. She is also more of a lover than a fighter and appreciates peace. She's modest too and I picture her as someone hardworking (working hard to get Naruto's attention and approval) and laidback (I remember her being scolded by her father for not training enough) and she'd stay her ground when the going gets tough. She fits your situational response too.
When you said that you're a good listener yet you feel you're insecure makes me think of Future!Hinata. Although you said you're a leader, you did say that you're still quite shy. This reminds me of post-time skip Hinata, because she's slightly more brave but she is still pretty quiet. Also, when you said about teaching Naruto your secret fighting move, "I'd be really nervous about it but I would be willing to teach him," I really thought of Hinata.
(Sorry, comment posted before I'd finished my thought.)
Definitely Gaara. While he's not exactly shy, he's cautious to act when doing so could cause harm to others. His main traits are protectiveness and idealism--he wants more than anything to make the world a better place, for people he loves as well as strangers. He's also a bit of a pacifist (as much as the leader of a ninja village can be, at any rate ;P) He never uses violence when there's another option, because he's seen the horror it can inflict on society. He's an amazing friend and a wonderful leader, but his violent past makes him cautious about letting himself loose fully. He's headstrong and courageous, and has Naruto's heroic qualities without being reckless or aggressive.
