I received this email from the manager of Lluest which I thought I'd share with you all just to keep you informed.

Horses, not ponies? We've been upgraded! Does that mean we need to rename the campaign?

I think it's brilliant that a group of everso slighty deranged people have been able to raise this money and that it's going to benefit a whole lot of people - and with no strings attached! Just for the sheer awesomeness of Ianto Jones.

Next step is to make sure that having paid for the horses, we can support their ongoing upkeep - feed, hay, tack, vets bills, and the rest. So having got the horses, let's keep them maintained? Sound like a good responsible plan?

Oh, I think everyone can benefit from the offer. Isn't that so much more pleasant than the usual, meaningless, "Hi, how are you?" Wouldn't it improve your day to have someone offer to give you an O Face? You don't have to accept the offer, but it's so much more meaningful!

Wait, her letter isn't entirely clear -- are they going to GET two riding/charity outreach horses or will the donation be for maintenance/upkeep of rescued horses that are used for this?

Not that it matters, of course - it's their money and heaven knows they'd know how to spend it in the way that's best for them -- I'm just curious.

From the sounds of it, this was a thing that was pretty much on the cards anyway, it seems to me like they're looking to maintain at least two healthy horses at any given time, most of their rescue horses and ponies don't sound hugely like the type of animal you'd drag around for kiddie rides. So I think it's probably a bit of both.
