Want to make a Torchwood-related charity donation, but don't want to endorse James Moran's girlie flouncing ways? Don't want to feed Rusty's ego by demanding he bring back Ianto like the God he already thinks he is? Want to finally be able to give a Ianto related gift to a cause you can believe in? Then let's buy Ianto a pony, guys. You know that's what Ianto Jones would want.
To celebrate Ninja Teaboy's 300th member, it was suggested to me that we should throw ourselves into the big Torchwood Charity Fight of 2009. I contacted the Lluest Horse and Pony trust, of which GDL is a patron, to ask if we could collectively adopt a pony for the teaboy, and they were very positive. Well, okay, they were somewhat unsure about getting involved with a lulzy Torchwood-based interweb campaign, but in the end they decided they needed all the money they could get in these hard times, and a jolly nice lady called Barbara gave me a big thumbs up.
So here it is, IANTO JONES WANTS A PONY, a fitting tribute to Ianto Jones without any of that silly supporting-the-writers baggage. They've got enough money and enough support. The horsies do not.
And remember, people:
IANTO JONES ISN'T HUNG LIKE A HORSE. HORSES ARE HUNG LIKE IANTO JONES.

In answer to your questions, yes, we could support the Children In Need campaign, but not everyone wants to endorse a charity campaign actually aimed at bringing back the character. And some people may just not like children very much. And, let's face it, CIN raises millions a year and the Lluest Horse and Pony Trust is really quite strapped for cash.
And no, we can not get him a unicorn, so this is the next best thing.
