Confession: I've never watched Life, but I read this anyways. And I liked it! I don't hate Demming, per se, I just hate him getting in the way. So I'm glad he gets his own fic here. Since he's safely away from Beckett. XD

Hey you, happy to hear you enjoyed this. :-) I don't plan to continue this, but in my mind he moves out to L.A. after a while-maybe he knows Reese's boss, who's from New York-and eventually gets involved with Reese. Which would present its own difficulties, as she's far more damaged than Beckett, but I sort of want a happy ending for the poor guy.

Reese is an alcoholic, as she admits here; IIRC got addicted to drugs when doing undercover narcotics work; is closed off from other people; has a bad relationship with her dad; and has a partner who annoys her even more than Castle annoys Beckett. She's dark and snarky. By the end of the show she's healed some, at least enough for this piece to be in character (I think.)

I would love to write another Castle/Life crossover, but I would need to find her partner's voice, and that might prove difficult; he's quite idiosyncratic.

Never watched Life so no idea who the lady is, but glad to see someone comforting Demming. As much as I ship Castle/Beckett, I can't say a bad word about him. He is a nice guy, totally not his fault that he got between everyone's OTP (again; Trucco is SO typecast...) He even asked Castle in the first place and he was given the green light.

I know!! He always plays the nice guy who's also the other man. Hoping his new show will give him a chance to stretch his muscles. Uh ... figuratively, as in his acting muscles. Though I wouldn't be opposed to a literal interpretation (I will confess to drooling over his arms on BSG). :-P

Once he became a Viper jockey and started wearing those tank tops ... oh boy. Pure eye candy. Though I always felt bad for Lee/Bamber.
