A while ago,
someone reported me to the RSPCA for neglecting my cats. (I may even have found the person who did it because, one night (before the Lockdown), a woman hammered on the door and said, "That cat is crying with cold and hunger!" to which I replied, "It's not my cat!" I'm finding Lockdown pretty miserable, I'm kind of ashamed to say. How are you doing?

It is good to see you around, too.

I've been trying to post for a while but everything I've written has turned into "Waaaaaaah!"

Love the pics, especially the one at night with the fairy lights.
Stay safe and healthy, my dear.

Unfortunately, the closest trees are about 40 feet away, so I don't think birds are ever going to feel safe. I used to have a huge fuchsia in my front garden, and there was a nest in that, but my brother cut it right back last summer (partly because it was about nine feet high and had begun to block the footpath and partly because he can't be trusted with secateurs). He claims it will grow back.

It always, always, grew back. Eventually we got someone in to cut it to ground level and then dig out as much of the roots as possible, before paving the entire space. When we left there was a small, identical, fuchsia which was growing up between the paving slabs in the garden next door...

In 30 years I never, until this last couple of years, had birds in my back garden, either. I put it down to the seagulls as well as the local cats. We actually have fewer of both those now and I have a blackbird. Yay.

Maybe the blackbird will bring some friends!
