Oh, god, I was such an embarrassing PoTO fangirl (or should I say Phangirl?) when I was a teenager. And I did write terrible fic and post it on my ancient and thankfully defunct Geocities page. So many terrible relics of my teenage years have thankfully been swept away by the sands of time and interwebz.

I love the Nightwish version so much. And, ye gods, "Love Never Dies" is dreadful. I remember being appalled by the awfulness of the book, and although the music is predictably lovely, the lyrics really are painful.

or should I say Phangirl?

Not if you wish to retain any self-respect, and I speak as someone who dragged her family to it for her 18th birthday (they should count themselves lucky they aren't going to be getting dragged to German vampire musicals for my next significant birthday). I rather hope that my student days on Usenet are long dust.

LND infuriates me because some of the music is really gorgeous, but why couldn't be in the cause of a musical that was actually good instead of cringe-making?

I guess our best bet is to hold out for a symphonic suite?
