I'm with you on the sunburned thing, which is why I have no desire to go to any tropical like locations. I forgot to wear sunscreen one day in Japan, and I burned so bad. Peeled within a day. Ick. lol.

Glad you had fun! Vacations are the best thing ever. Mmm. Vacation.

1 - yay! that's so awesome! i've never been on a cruise, but it sounds fantastic. glad you had such a great time!
3 - double awesome XD.
4 - i know right? it's like when people were saying: 'divorces for everyone' 'wait, you can't be serious! what next? marriage for gays?'
facepalm.

1.Welcome back! :) The cruise sounds so awesome!!! I’ve never been on one, but I very much want to. Glad you had a fabulous time! (I’d love to see piiiiiiics, btw!)

3. Ooooh, congrats! :P That’s pretty exciting.

4. What’s wrong about group marriage? People, seriously. You see, there are many, many things to be desired about my country, but something I actually feel proud of is that it became the third country in the world to allow same-sex marriage with legislation that also allowed gay couples to adopt children. Honestly, I still can't believe it actually happened. LOL

Welcome Back from the cruise; so glad it was good!! (and yeah, it's a rule that you'll get sunburned on holiday at least once, even when using sunscreen :P)

What is Hell on Wheels, pray tell? Sounds interesting.

also, re:This is War. Since you've watched it, I need a bit of advice - was thinking of taking a student of mine to watch it, because she likes Chris Pine, but she is 13, so I'm wondering, would it be ok for her to watch or is her mum going to kill me afterwards? :P (she's like a family friend, but still :P)

HOW centers around a group of workers on the transcontinental railroad after the civil war...so it's basically a western, with revenge themes and racial tension and all that.

About the movie, it's hard to say...There's a whole lot of dialogue about sex (and there's use of the 'F' word, but I don't know how that translates). I know that it just barely got the R rating though, for a long time it was supposed to be PG-13.

The F word will probably not be put in the subtitles - they only do it for hardcore films. And seeing as the kid has been watching the secret life of an american teenager (or whatever that series is called), I doubt a dialogue about sex is going to shock her.

thanks heaps! :D

HOW sounds *very* interesting. Me likes westerns. :)
