Curses! I thought I was going to be the first person I knew to read Journey Into Space. Damn me and my not having time to fit it into my November or December reading.

I don't suppose you could give me an idea of if I should try and fit it into my January/February reading or not?

What else have you got in your schedule? It is a good book but it didn't blow me away. It is also pretty bleak and misanthropic which makes it perfect for January.

At the moment, there are two rock-solid books on my schedule; The Woman in White, as it's a book group book. And The Last Innocent White Man in America, which is an ILL. Bringing up the rear (in that I've started them) are Just After Sunset, which I've read roughly a third of already, and the first volume of the new Solaris book of science fiction. And that's not taking into account any library books which may leap the queue should I need to read and return them for someone else's reservation.

All that aside, bleak and misanthropic sounds good to me.

I should add that although I generally disdain hardbacks the Candlewick Press Octavian Nothing is an absolutely beautiful artefact.
