Hooray for Crash! I've no interest in watching it but at least it made me some money. Off to see Syriana tonight but I'm not really in the mood for torture so I hope there's not too much of that. Update: I also had some money on George Clooney but they didn't read out best supporting actor on the radio this morning so I forgot. Double score ( Read more... )

Watched Planet Earth last night. The BBC have given this a curiously low-key promotional push compared to their other recent flagship natural history programmes but it was predictably brilliant. No sign of any stealth sharks though.

The African hunting dog scenes and the elephants under water were absolutely stunning, but I felt that the programme as a whole was a tad bitty and lacked a real theme to bind it together. But that's a minor quibble - it was Attenborough, it was superb, and the camerawork was utterly gobsmacking.

Life in the Undergrowth was quite low-key for such a good series, too.

it was the only film i had seen that was nominated in that category.
it was fucking hideous.
