Unsurprisingly only a minority have made the right decision in the Stross debate.

Saying that,The Hidden Family has been quite interesting so far. The only niggles are that its heroine is perhaps a little too capable and the fact that the whole idea of alternate worlds controlled by a single royal family was ripped off, however openly, from Zelazny.

More on that later.

Have you read Accelerando? I'm much keener on that than I was on Iron Sunrise and that other one. The Atrocity Archives is also good.

Singularity Sky. Good ideas, but bad characters and plot.

I haven't read Accelerando yet as I've been holding out for a mass market paperback. ninebelow's comparison with MacLeod does not bode well however.

As for The Atrocity Archives, I stumped up for the Golden Gryphon hardback in a moment of madness so I should really read it.

This is pretty much my view of Accelerando.

I don't know enough about any of those people to comment, but I'm guessing that they all write something loosely associated with "sf" so I've marked them all as BAD. Except JCG, because Niall told me he's crap, so I marked him as GOOD.
