the walk home from work

Dec 15, 2010 16:57

The two-mile walk home from work is a drudge and I decide to take The Shortcut. Usually when it starts getting dark early (like it has) I walk along the main road, and only in the summer do I go along the shorter way across the fields and down the country lane. However, I decide to be an idiot and take the shortcut because I’m hungry.

and then... excitement! )

nina is not sane, journal, oddness

I don't know if this is tragic or good, but my life as a sitcom has been suggested before. More than once. XDD

*runs off to Red Tide-ness*

Haha - oh my favorite quotes from this!

I start doing what someone trying to be kind would call dancing-a less charitable person would describe it as closer to some sort of ungainly arm-seizure.

I know there’s a cottage not so far away along the moors, but whoever lives there is probably a gingerbread witch.

Yes definitely take the longer, better-lit path next time! Shortcuts like that are what made Thomas and Martha Wayne martyrs in Gotham City. ;-) But seriously I'm just as paranoid as you are. When you go to downtown Atlanta everyday and have an increase in crime and robberies this time of the year, you get really paranoid.

And you know I think of a white, windowless stalker van that looked like it was pulled from Texas Chainsaw Massacre when you mention that vehicle trailing you down the road. I probably would've run off screaming - gingerbread witch or not!

You deserved a cup of tea after this.

Hopefully I'll be moving to London next year-- God knows what I'll be like over there! But the countryside can be creepy too in a total Texas Chainsaw Massacre way. And seriously, those white stalker vans are creepy as hell looming out of the mist. o__O

For some reason I thought I'd share this story. XDD Ah well. A lesson learned.

I live in what must be the creepiest part of England. SIGH. To be fair, the gypsy camp only consists of about three caravans but whenever they're in town that spot becomes The Gypsy Camp. XD I can't wait to move to a city, even though I'll probably become even more of a paranoid nutcase over there.

And the lesson is to never take the shortcut when it's dark and foggy because creepy guys could want to kill you. I think I would have been scared too.
