This isn't "what happened next" for "Always, (Never) Always" (although I am working on that), but it is actually my first complete attempt at a NUMB3RS fic. It's a post-pilot gen fic centering on my favorite featured guest star from that episode.

“Ah, I have to take them regularly, it’s too much trouble,” he said with a slight wave of his hand before putting them on his hips, his eyes still following the spray.
I can hear and see Charlie shockingly well in this one sentence. Oh my god, I love it!! And the last line wraps everything up so nicely. Excellent, excellent job!

endearing older brother!Don is always nice
Yes, of course he is. (But even at about 8, he's very self-conscious about being "cool"!)
I’ll bet you’re right that Charlie must’ve been an absolutely adorable child.
I'll fess up, I saw the movie Big Shot, and there's a photo of 2- or 3-year-old David Krumholtz that's just about the cutest baby picture I've ever seen. It was an inspiration. (Not that it's hard to imagine him as a baby, since curls+big eyes+full mouth automatically = cute kid...)
Oh my god, I love it!!
How can I not bask in the glow? :) Thanks so much for taking the time to read.

Came here on castalie's rec, and it didn't disappoint. I love the quiet, "at home" fics, and the image of Don playing with Charlie in the sprinkler was delightful. This went into my "keeper" file. Thanks for sharing.

Also, wow, that was quick! I only told castalie I'd unlocked it about an hour ago. She's got powerful rec mojo. ;)
