Honestly, when a thesis adviser as unflaggingly dapper and friendly as mine is unshaven and glum, the world begins to take on a chaotic cast. Bodes not well for the week. That, and that I read the wrong play for my Shakespeare class. Mmm.

A strange boy gave me a long-stemmed rose as I crossed Morrison today. He was wearing a green crushed-velvet blazer and headphones as big as mine and as we passed each other there was a rose in my hand before I knew it was there. Then I turned around and smiled. No words were exchanged.

My hands still smell like garlic from my Meatball Caper with Leah last night (four people, in two days, have succeeded in eating maybe a quarter of the total meatball volume) and my boyfriend hasn't called me since I told him I was making meatballs and thinking of him (note: there was context).
