I have been afflicted lately with scraps of poems I remember, fragmentarily.

On the subway this evening, coming home from Queens:
...we cannot follow
cannot love
I think that's where the line break goes.

The first question is: what poem is this and who wrote it? (Jorie Graham?)
But the real question is: is it topical?

I think that's Lydgate's poem.

I suspect that the lines come from Graham's "Vertigo," but my copy of The Dream of the Unified Field (a selected works, and one which doesn't contain "Pollock and Canvas") is in Portland.
