I've been carrying around a little bottle of hand sanitiser since last October, roughly at the peak of H1N1 infections here in Canada. Normally I'm not that paranoid but I guess pregnancy changes your assessment of risk. I've found it dead useful, not just for cleaning hands on the go but also when I have to use the toilet at shopping centres and

I think you're related to my germophobic mother-in-law. She hates even touching door handles or stair banisters. Yes, and she hovers over ANY toilet seat no matter what. In fact, when her son was little, and they were visiting people, she'd send him into the toilet first so his urine would sanitise any of their germs!!!!

When I was a kid I used to be told to put loo roll down on 'strange' toilet seats that I visited but I don't do this now. I just wipe the seat and get on with it. I don't hover either, as I'd heard this can cause bladder problems.

I carry hand sanitizer when I travel. Ships, trains, trams and buses are germy places. It's funny because when I'm working I have no trouble eating my food with black work hands. Also, I lick bone at work :-p

Well, your work sites have much fewer people compared to other public places, and people = germs ;p

I've done the lining thing but never the hover; I just feel too stressed and it's too tiring to do anything in that position!

I do carry sanitiser but I only usually use it for cleaning high chairs and their trays before (and after) I sit Isaac in them.
