The punch bug ad just made me smile. I never did that as a kid (or even knew about that). When I was in college one of my roommates punched the hell out of me when one passed. My response: "what the HELL was that?!?" As I was not accustomed to my roommates assaulting me.
She was amused to find out that I had no idea about the "punch bug" concept.

My brother and I played the non-violent version of just calling out the color of "Beep Beep". We referred to the VW bugs as "Beep Beeps". No clue why.
