kimono o kita.

Putting on a kimono takes forever! If you wear a good kimono, there's at least 10 pieces to it. It took from 1:30-4:00 to get 20 girls in a kimono. It was fun, though, probably the only time I'll experience wearing a kimono. There were some really beautiful ones, but it was first come first grabs. But I liked mine, too.

I love it! triskeles October 23 2006, 23:23:29 UTC
That's beautiful. I can't even imagine the time and energy it took to get you all into them. *lol* I read about how they put traditional ones on in a class that I took in world culture.

Great pics of you btw. :)

Thanks =)

It did take quite a while to put on the kimono. There's undergarments, the kimono, the belt, the socks, and a bunch of strips of cloth to hold everything in place. My friend Ruth was the model for the best kimono, hers was amazing!

Hope you're doing well! And hope Spanish is going well for you too!

You look gorgeous! It's so nice to see the sunshine in the background. I hope you feel as peaceful as you look.

Thanks. Despite waiting so long to try on the kimono, it was a fun experience. It's interesting that it looks so sunny in the background because it was actually raining all day yesterday. We were going to take pictures outside but it was pouring so we couldn't. I enjoyed it nevertheless.

Besides the usual chaos, things are okay here. I'm probably going to go take a nap before I start doing my homework.

Love,

Janelle

You look so pretty---what a beautiful kimono. The sun really does look nice coming in. It has been cold and rainy here. We are suppose to have snow mix with rain late tonight.
Tigers won one of their games---now they need to win more to win the World Series! Hopefully they will get some better weather. Take care--

Thanks =). I thought it kind of funny that I chose a kimono that was red, white, and blue (along with a red belt), without realizing it. I enjoyed walking around in it. They had shoes that we had to wear for a little bit, but they were 5 sizes to small for most of us! Our feet were hanging out the ends and the front straps were killing us, heh.

Wowww, it's hard to believe that the Tigers could win the World Series.

It's getting colder here, too. I notice that every day is just a little colder than the last. We've gotten some rain, but no snow yet. I don't expect to see snow here until December. I don't think fall here is as pretty as fall back home, though!

Love,

Janelle

How do you say "You look beautiful" in Japanese? :)

The easiest way would probably be to say "kirei da".

And thanks for the compliment. ^_^
