the muni is the best and cheapest way to get around the city. if you're going to oakland or w/e you may need the bart, but you can get anywhere in sf on the muni. make sure you buy your tickets from the machines before boarding (there's no one charging you before you get on all the time) because they do random checks for tickets. make sure to give yourself a lot of time incase they're running late. oh, and take a lot of change with you, most ticket dispensers only accept change.
