Let's play Intelligent Design!

Guess what? You're God. No, really. Or maybe you're just A god of creation. Or Vishnu. Or Samuel Jackson. Q. Anubis? Whatever, reality is at your whim.

Change something with the world. The galaxy. Life. The universe. Anything. In any given time period, past to future, anywhere. Then make up the ( Read more... )

I could sooo see this turning into a reality TV event. But as long as Mutant World isn't canceled and the planet reduced to its bast constituent atomic properties, everything should be okay. ;)

What can I say? I'm so much more imaginative than Mojo when my mind is working.

To change the world...the choice is almost an easy one, since I have contemplated it for some time now. Everyone dreams of being immortal, right? Some people stop to think about the consequences, some see only the good in it, and some wouldn't dare try to obtain it. But what if there a way to approach immortality so close as to practically be immortal, and to accept mortal limitations as we choose ( ... )

* Earth will start getting 'full'. Overpopulation because people do not wish to die before they fulfill a certain goal, or do not wish to die before having had children...
Rules and laws would have to be made that define a 'full life' and governments will try and get people to make themselves pass on after a set amount of time.

Yours is likely the most optimistic account I've heard. :) It's interesting to consider a more ideal (perhaps Trek-ish) outlook for humanity, and it somewhat shows with me that I tend more to a cynical 'We're Fscked' outlook.

Seventh generation: Human population begins to decline. The only stable forms of ruling are now religions; people are only bound together by whim rather than forced to coexist in a society. Don't like your neighbor's religion? Kill him until he's forced to think like you. Technology begins to flow backwards; cities have become warzones and bloodbaths. Nature begins to retake the land ( ... )

You're welcome. :)

I'm more likely to picture the human race eventually dying off..well, at least down to smaller vestiges of the hardiest examples of humanity.

I snap my fingers, and because I can undo these things whenever at any stage I want, I arrange the world with rules like a muck ( ... )

Hmm. Interesting! A lot of thigns would become moot in the case of a world like a MUCK. There'd be no idea of non-consensual crime..well, maybe, if it was a misleading one and not something that could be avoided by refusing to acknowlege it.

I'd love to see where a world like that ends up. But I'm pretty sure it would end up with a lot of people refusing to wake up because they're too busy modeling their avatars in their dream-like ThirdLife. :p
