I have thoroughly enjoyed this so far. You have created an intriguing retelling of Khan and the Botany Bay (who'd a thunk Khan would have "roombas" on his ship?) I just had to tell you that I nearly fell out of my chair laughing at the reference as to how Khan knew Chekov in TWOK. =)
I can't claim that bit of amusement. It is actually from Walter Koenig himself, who was asked at a convention about that little canon problem between the movie and the episode. Walter replied that he liked to think that Chekov had made Khan wait while needing a bathroom and Khan was all 'I will never forget your face!' about it. I had to put that in somewhere. :D
All good dictators must have a clean and tidy ship! Plus they amuse Scotty, and I like that man amused.
When I mentioned it to my beta's as I was plotting away at the story, they jumped up and down and yelled at me that I had to include it. It was so much fun to write. Khan is not a man to be kept waiting! For anything!

Marla had to have a past like that to make her a little susceptible and trusting.
Khan is pretty sure he is superior to Spock. Uhura knows better!
