It basically means that Canada is in the process of enacting the same anti-copyright laws that the US has, and that labels will be allowed to sue us for file sharing. Among other things.

Yeah, but...my friend says that rarely happens, when it is it's huge news and we don't hardly hear anything about it. It's something they do to scare people and sometimes catch the very stupid ones.

And yet RIAA fined a single mother in Minnesota over $200,000 for file sharing. RIDICULOUS.

Also, we already pay huge levies on mp3 players and blank CDs/DVDs, and that likely won't be eliminated with the introduction of this bill.
