Here's my entry for Two-Minute Challenge #3 (and be warned that it probably won't make any sense to you if you're not a Buffy fan). Once again, we have 7th-Season Faith on the menu ...
Safe
Safe. They always used the word like it was such a little thing. “This will be safe here.” “It’s safe to say that..” None of their lives had ever depended on the real meaning of that word. None of them had ever been told it was “safe” to stay with someone and to shut up and be good. Not that she’d ever bring it up. Like they didn’t feel sorry enough for her already, that’s all she needed. “Poor Faith, she was abused, that explains how fucked up she is.” Whatever. They were learning now, though. Learning how little “safe” means when applied to house full of Slayers and evil-fighters slowly being hunted by a Big Bad Evil that doesn’t even touch you. Safe. At least she’d been prepared for it.

A/N: It's interesting how into Faith's head I can actually get when writing. After I finished this, I went back and read it and thought, "Well duh, of course their lives have depended on being safe. Geez, these people deal with death and danger every day, what was I thinking? I can't post this!"
Then I realized that Faith wouldn't see it that way. She's always been self-centered (see? I can admit that my girl isn't perfect), seeing the world as out to get her and the Scoobies having charmed lives. I'm not saying she doesn't have reason to think what she does, but the fact is, she does see the world that way. So I'm actually impressed and intrigued with what came out with this one.
