I loved this story and was sad when I thought it was abandoned. Nice to see it back but now it's a cliff hanger. I hope you've got your muse back as this is such a great work and now I'm dying to know what is going to happen to River and Jayne. They've been through so much, they really need to just be together, heal together and then kick some ass together. I hope you'll update soon. :)Ali

I love this story! And I don't even ship River and Jayne. It is heartbreaking but stays true to characterization and has a plot line that is believable post Miranda. Mal's inner conflict of unwelcomed leadership is well developed as is his relationship with Inara. And you made her strong in her love for him without sacrificing her recognition of his shortcomings. And it is a completely different partnership between the two of them than he had with Zoe, beyond the passionate sex of course:) so that is food for thought.

River and Jayne, yes! Where others have failed, you‘ve made me believe in them and it’s giving River a wonderful arc into adulthood. And I love anytime Jayne challenges Mal, in regards to River. Mal going back to find Jayne and not wanting to leave him behind was a work of brilliance.

Simon, though, Wow…. sacrificing so much for his sister he lost himself, nice job in showing that.

Can't you tell? I'm so glad you decided to finish.

Wow. I joined way after you started this so I read the whole thing so far and I think this has to be the best '2nd war' story I have read! So angsty and heartwrenching and you most definately put our BDHs through the wringer!

I desperately hope you update soon and you had better give a happy Rayne ending! Don't kill Jayne!! I will weep bitterly if you do!

This is actually my second time reading through this and I forgot that it was incomplete so I did the same "Noooooo! I have to know how it ends!" wail as the first time. I love this story. Omg, the angst is killing though. My heart actually aches for, well, the entire thing. You really know how to pull at heartstrings. Actually, I take that back. You know how to rip a heart out and twist it to bits. I really really really want to know how this ends so, ya know, no pressure or anything but you did say you had to finish it for you. :D
