And as I wrote, this was the perfect ending. It is one thing to say (as I did) that Emma empowers Emily and that Emily frees Emma. But these two sequences showed it powerfully, in Emily rejecting her mother by herself, and especially in the last scene, where as Emily thinks, a kind of surrender happens, and Emma relinquishes her iron control for peace

The resigned acceptance and the desperate hope... The final choise to risk and just feel. It's really a marvellous work.

To see this fic finally finished makes me so happy, and to have your broken gals finally find a bit of peace together-fantastic. I've always loved this fic, in some ways more than Bicker or some of the others, because it takes place during my favorite period in history and the number one place I've always wanted to visit-WWII & Alsace. Well done and Ty for sharing it!
