US government lobbies against EU on behalf of Monsanto: Wikileaks

As more Wikileaks become available to the public, I find more examples of how our government serves the interests of huge corporations not only in this country, but abroad. Today's set of released cables includes a gem concerning the US government attempting to block the EU's battle against Monsanto's GMO seeds making it into European farm land. ( Read more... )

I've been waiting to watch the armies of Monanto and Archer Daniels Midland to battle in the streets for total world food domination for years. That either of them uses the US government as a puppet isn't at all surprising. Awful, just not surprising.

It doesn't surprise me either. So far there have been no big surprises with the Wikileaks cables, which makes me wonder why the corporations and government are so dead set against them coming out. It's awful, and I'm disgusted. What are the chances of it changing anything? We can hope, right?

The cables have been more gossip value than anything else. Maybe the emergency cache that Assange claims he has will have something juicier.
