Oh, ok. Well again, I think it looks GREAT. I really like the floors, and I bet they were pretty easy to install. We have real wood & even though I like the look, the maintenance and TIME it took to install are just outrageous. I worry so much about getting water on our wood and it sucks when its time to clean it.
that room actaully took almost 12 hours for michael! lol but he'd never done it before, had no help & wanted to make sure everything was lined up right .. he got quicker 2nd half of the room though, once he got the hang of it
I love hardwood..but I dont think you can put it in manufactured homes since under the subfloor the house is built on steal beams & hardwood has to be nailed down (right?) but we wouldnt have been able to afford hardwood anyways..
Oh WOW! What a difference! It looks so much nicer!
We are thinking of buying the house we are currently renting and want to put in floors like that. Can I ask how much approximately it cost? Was it hard for Michael to install? Has he ever done it before?
I got ours CHEEP! i paid $725 for 687 sq ft of floor.. which is enough to do the living,kitchen,2 halls & a laundry. & if theres not much waste i should have 1 box to return & get $20 back it was $.99 a sq ft with the padding
dont go to lowes or home depot! they charge alot more! i got ours from a local lumber & barns place..
lumber liquidators also has great prices .. even as low as $.78 a sq ft! (but you gotta buy the padding which is gonna add $.10 a sq ft)
I found good prices at other local lumber places, building supply stores, flooring places .. but I knew i wanted something with a redish tint to go with the kitchen cabinets.. so i shopped around untill i found the best price & a color that matched
michael has never installed it before..but he's a handy guy that can figure out how to do anything! it did take him a long time to do just this one room! but he got faster on the 2nd 1/2 of the room..once he got the hang of it..so i think he'll finish the rest alot quicker
( ... )
OMG that looks awesome!!! Talk about a huge difference!
Is this the stuff that is pergo ? What do you clean it with, can you use water? I want floors like that so bad. That and tile...what a difference. (and makes it so much easier to clean when the dog freaks out. LOL)
pergo is a brand of laminate.. but its the same thing.. i dont even know what brand we bought..id have to look at the boxes
& you can mop it.. just not with a soaking wet mop.. use a mop with a squeezable head.. they sell laminate floor cleaner.. i bought a big bottle for $2 at the dollar store
