This makes me happy.

The living room is just like any other living room in the Temple. But here, she won't get yelled at for spilling fizzade on the carpet.

Psh, Ferus will just Spot-Bot it and frown at her all the way through dinner, and then bang dishes around. Then some of her underwear will disappear (for "unrelated reasons").

At this stage of the game, disgust would be what he feels; I like the last sentence especially, as they are bonded and living together with all that that entails, the 'no, I can't be related (so to speak) to this person, it's a ghastly mistake, I am not at all like this person ... '

Thanks! That's the feeling I was going for. Master/Apprentice relationships are hard, because there's a conditionality to them that's different from a parent/child dynamic.

I am such a dork, but my favorite parts of LOTJ were the flashbacks, lol. There's a lot of stuff with them that was overlooked in previous series.

The two that stick out in particular for me are

- Siri teaching Ferus about ~the life~ of herbs, because lol @ Gardener Olin.
- Ferus falling off a tree branch because of his concentration and Siri getting frustrated with him for not being One with the dirt.

There's tonsss more. I need to re-read those books. And I never finished the last couple, I just read spoilers :\

I liked the way you showed how Siri and Ferus are so awkward in th beginning. Loved the last line. Makes it very sad. Great job.
