Isn't moving from the boonies into civillisation great? I'm loving being so close to everywhere! And I'm never late now! Sounds like you and bike had a fun day, hope your legs don't get too soar.
*laughs* Actually, I only moved across the highway. :) Same teeny-tiny town (Population = about 2,000), I'm just now in the middle of the "commercial" part of the "town" rather than the residential part, so everything that I need is all clustered close together, and I want to try to see if I can live without a car. Just 'cuz. So, I bike. And walk when I have to but since I've now fallen in love with the bike and it's pretty freakin' hot here, I don't want to walk when I can ride.
And so far my legs aren't sore at all. They burn when I'm riding uphill, but they don't get sore afterward. It's probably because I'm not riding for any great stretches. The ride to work is less than half a mile. The library, bank, grocery, laundromat, hardware/general store etc., are at most three blocks. The farthest I've ridden has been to the thrift store, which was a mile and a half.
Bow-Chika-Wow-Wow? Lol. It couldn't be worst than most self insert sex-fests. At least they wouldn't be doing each other. That's cropped up a lot in the lambo twins stories recently. :S
but yes! Moving! It's not just the local conveniences I'm loving. This house has a tumble dryer! A tumble dryer!!! All washing was done in 4 hours in three seprerate loads! The worry I feel when I'm not able to do all my washing has gone!
Glad to hear the bike is working out! I wish I had the health and inclination to get a bike and get riding.
Well, I'm certainly not in good shape, that's for sure. Almost two years of depression made me quite the house-bound slug. This is partly the reason that I've decided not to get Internet at my place yet. It forces me to get my fat arse out of the house because I can't possibly go without Internet for a WHOLE DAY, OMG! *laughs*
What, you don't like twincest? Hee hee...Yeah, that's probably one of those things that I can do without. Which is why I create Lambos who want to kill each other! Yeah, like that's healthy, too. *laughs*
*sigh* That's the one thing I DON'T like about my place. No washer/dryer, so I have to use the laundromat. But it won't be too bad because it's just me and I don't tend to generate too much in the way of washing that needs to be done. So little that I'm contemplating just hand-washing stuff in the bathtub and leaving it hanging to dry unless something gets really soiled.
Actually, yes. I am going to go look at a carbon emissions creator in the morning. I would love to never have to drive anywhere ever again, but I do not think that is an option when you pretty much live in the middle of nowhere.
And one has to love the stuff that you can find in thrift stores. Sometimes that is the best place to shop. And if one can Google something one should be able to internet something!
Well, I'm totally in the middle of nowhere, too, but fortunately, the little area when I live has everything I need, and it's all close together. And I live less than half a mile, as the crow flies, from where I work. I have discovered that it's actually faster for me to ride the bike to work than to drive my car because on the bike I can take a bike path shortcut and avoid the one traffic light between me and my office.
The local thrift store is awesome. It's cramped and completely disorganized, so it takes time and effort to find what you want, but that's sort of fun and it's definitely part of the place's charm. And it's cheap, which is always a plus.
