Thanks! Tony's drinking problem and his handling of it are some of my favorite pieces of his character development, so this seemed like a perfect prompt for me.

This was supposed to be a lot longer, but I ran face-first into the deadline. There's a whole subplot about how the cider Thor brought is actually really bad for mortals and most of the mansion comes down sick with food poisoning just as the bad guys who are after Sleipnir show up. Tony and Steve end up staggering around half-dead and trying to fight bad guys while the food poisoning kicks in. ^_^

This was... Funny and heartfelt at the same time. The moments balance each other perfectly, and that takes skill. You also captured the mentality of the sobering alcoholic perfectly. Tony's obsession with drinking is very raw in this. I like it.
Yeah, Steve wears ugly sweaters. But he makes them look GOOD.
At first I was wondering 'why do they seem cold towards each other?' and then I was like 'duh movieverse herp-a-derp'. XD And then I was like 'cider's an alcoholic drink lolwut?' I'm stupid, please forgive me.
But my favourite part was the ending. Call me sappy, but I love heart-to-heart moments. They make me happy. And Steve's Christmas tradition is just... D'awwwww. I always want to hug Steve when his past comes up. I know how he feels. And I want to hug Tony too. He's had a shitty lot in life too. But I'm glad Steve and Tony have made a new tradition of their own.
Thank you for, like, the umpteenth brilliant read. <3

Thanks! I was pretty nervous about movie-verse. I've mostly only written MA so far and there's definitely a different tone...

cider's an alcoholic drink lolwut?

*laughs* The cider is such a random non-sequitor because the fic was supposed to be a LOT longer and I had to chop off the second half to finish it in time. The cider is a plot point, if I ever get it done.

I'm unused to movieverse, and that's... Well, what everyone's doing right now. I've never read MA myself, I don't thing they publish it in Italy. I'm used to 616, personally... That's my default universe. XD

Oooooh, I see now. At first I thought "maybe American cider is non-alcoholic? But Vikings used to drink mead". Yeah, the usual weird leaps of 'logic' my mind makes.
I'd love to read the longer version one day, have that plot point explained.:D

Cider in the States is either hard (alcoholic) or soft (non-alcoholic). The default is soft, to the point that people usually just call it cider and specifically call the alcoholic kind "hard cider". The stuff Thor brought was supposed to be non-alcoholic. ^_^

MA is adorable, which is why I tend to gravitate to it whenever 616 gets too angsty. ^_^ It's pretty much what got me back into fandom after Civil War.

This was sweet, hilarious, and touching. I loved Tony's open honesty in his speech to Tony about why he quit drinking. Well done and very moving, yet true to character. And the end, awww. :)
