[For the last five minutes that he's been awake, Muraki has been watching Soul sleep, because that's not the creepiest thing he's ever done, by far.

But eventually he drifts from his place by the windowsill and sits on the edge of his--their--unmade bed, twisting at the waist and planting a palm by Soul's opposite hip in order to lean over him.]

[The touch to his hip is enough to stir him awake and he opens one eye just a little bit to get a glimpse of Muraki leaning over him. The guy could be weird... but then again he IS sleeping with someone more than half his age. He's used to the unconventional nature of this "arrangement" but sometimes, like now, he stops and just wonders "what is my life?"

And when he starts to wonder these things, the last thing he wants is to be vulnerable and close with the man. So he lets out a casual breath through his nose and his voice is tired and filled with a reserved coolness when he speaks.]

[Even Muraki has to step back and consider the evolution of their "arrangement" at times. He didn't keep "fuck buddies"--that wasn't his nature. There were certain partners he used and immediately disposed of like hand wipes, or those little shots of cream that come with your coffee. Something about this one keeps his interest alive.

If he ever put his finger on what that was, or grew to love him too much, he might have to kill him. But for now...

He tilts his head at Soul's response and part of his mouth curls into a smirk, humming in entertainment.]
